The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has arrested one Okogua Ambrose for collecting money to register candidates for the 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration which is yet to commence.

Mr Okogua who was described as a serial offender was arrested last year for money extortion from candidates for a process which he had no authorization to execute.

According to Jamb, his rearrest is a demonstration of the fact that if infractors are not adequately punished they will go back to perpetrate same crime.

While notifying the public that the 2021/22 UTME/DE application forms are not yet on sale, Jamb further disclosed that it has concluded all arrangements to roll out the sale of the 2021/22 UTME/DE application documents.

The Board also stated that the delay is being experienced owing to disruption occasioned by the Covid 19 pandemic as well as the Board embarking on series of strategic adjustment aimed at ensuring that academic activities are not unduly impacted.

JAMB further cautioned that anybody advertising anything to the contrary is a fraudster.

The board also called on all lovers of education to support it’s drive towards ensuring that the few bad eggs in the society who are bent on destroying the roots of the nations developmental aspirations are made to face the full wrath of the law.

The board however assured that it will do the needful to ensure that relevant agencies prosecute Mr Okogua and that he would not escape the long arm of the law for the second time.

The dates for the sale of the documents, the conduct of mock examination and the unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will announced latest on Wednesday 24, march 2021
