Ash Wednesday: Orthodox Christians Observe Day In Strict Adherence To COVID 19 Protocols.

Ash Wednesday is a significant day in the Christian calendar. Millions of Christians from across the world mark the day by wearing ashes on their forehead. The day which signifies the begining of lent leading to easter when Christians believe Jesus Christ resurrected also provides opportunity for repentance and mourning for sins. At the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama Abuja, Catholic faithful were on ground in their numbers for administration of ashes. Natural Sound Bishop Anslem Umoren is the auxillary Bishop of Abuja Archdiocese. According to him, the day calls for sober reflection and change of ways to align with the doctrine of christ. Track up For some Catholic faithful, Ash Wednesday further symbolises that every human is made from dust. Track up As expected,this year’s edition was conducted in full compliance of the covid-19 protocols.
