The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede MFR has commissioned another Forward Operation Base (FOB) at Belel in Adamawa State as part of the service continous effort to covering border areas that were taken by irregular migrants .
A signed statement by the service Public Relations Officer, DCI James Sunday made available to Channel Network Afrique indicates that the gesture is part of the CG’s commitment to ensuring air tight border patrol and migration control around the nation’s Borders.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman, Maiha Local Government, Alh.Idi Amin commended the Comptroller General for his visionary and transformational leadership resulting in the massive infrastructures across the NIS formations aimed at improving the welfare and conditions of work of the officers.
While noting the improvement Alh.Idi Amin a former Immigration officer was quick to observe the drastic changes witnessed in NIS Service delivery to the public in such a short period CGI Babandede was appointed with accolades from within and outside the country.
In his remarks, Babandede thanked the dignitaries that graced the occasion especially the Representative of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State Rt.Hon.Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support,the Chairman Maiha Local Government Alh Idi Amin ,The Emir of Mubi HRH Alh Abubakar Isa Ahmadu and the Damburram Mubi Chief of Belel for accommodating the operatives.
He further reiterated his commitment to visiting every location where the NIS formations are located to feel officers pulse and address issues affecting them.
