Indications from the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) reveals that there are barely 125,000 active nurses in Nigeria. The Association further decried the inadequate level of resources channeled to the sector by Government. Speaking at its 76th delegate conference in Abuja, the president of NANNM, Abdulrafiu Adeniji expressed reservation over the development and urged the federal government to do the needful. Among personalities that attended the conference includes the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba who in his remarks played up the nation’s insecurity challenges attributing it to the present woes in not just the health but other critical sectors of the economy. The Covid 19 second wave also top discuss at the conference as Nigerians were advised to adhere strictly to the safety measures as established by the president task force.
