NIS Inaugurates Forward Operating Base In Ogun state

A Forward Operation Base (FOB) located in Illase,Ogun state has been commissioned by the Nigeria Immigration Service as part of effort to strengthen border security in Nigeria.

The base which is part of the border management reforms embarked upon by the service was commissioned by the NIS Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede on 22 January, 2020.

In a signed statement by the service Public Relations Officer, DCI James Sunday, made available to Channel Network Afrique, CGI Babandede, restated the commitment of the service in ensuring that the FOB is established in all border frontiers of the country for effective border policing and patrol.

According to him, the FOB will compliment the fight against irregular migration in form of Smuggling of migrants, Trafficking in person and other trans border crimes.

Field Operation Base, Ogun State

The CGI added that activities in the the Idi-Iroko area and it’s environs will be centrally coordinated by the Illase base.

He said the Illase FOB like the twelve(12) others already established by the service is equipped with modern communication gadgets and we’ll furnished accommodations for operatives to be able to maintain 24/7 patrol and surveillance activities along the nation’s border.
