NIS Rewards Personnel For Outstanding Performance
The year 2020 has been a most challenging year globally as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus virus. The story is not different in Nigeria as the effect of the pandemic is still been felt in all most all spheres of the economy including the private sector. However, for the Nigerian Immigration Service, it was a year of great accomplishment irrespective of the global lockdown which affected it’s core area of mandate. The Service under the leadership of the Controller General, Muhammad Babandede initiated and implemented several milestone policies including it’s new visa policy,Electronic Passport,NIS Technology building just to mention a few as part of efforts to improve its service delivery. As the year gradually wind down,this gathering at the Service headquarters in Abuja was put together to recognise, honour and reward some of its personnel for exceptional performance, hard work and delligence in carrying out their duties and to a large extent the NIS success story of 2020. The ocassion was chaired by the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Shuaibu Belgore.
