This is a gathering of the senior executive course 42 of the National Institute for policy and strategic studies (NIPSS). Having done with their study on the theme: Population Growth and Human Capital Development in Nigeria, Challenges and Opportunities and submitted the report to president Mohammadu Buhari, the 78 participants drawn from different professional backgrounds were treated to a presidential dinner in Abuja by the Alumni Association of the National Institute. The dinner was chaired by the Director General of the National Population Comission (NPC) Dr Ghaji Bello who in his remarks commended the participants for the indept research into the subject as well as providing actionable policy recommendations. Speaking on the importance of the course, the NIPSS Director General, Prof Abu Galadima said it is to proffer solutions to some of the nation’s challenges and transmit recommendations to government for consideration. NIPSS founded in 1979 is Nigeria’s foremost policy formulation centre for bureaucrats, senior civil servants and private sector operators, including the military among others.
