The Nigerian Government has set aside the sum of 600 billion naira as loan support to farmers as part of strategy to forestall prediction of food crisis in the country by the world Bank and other international organizations.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Nanono gave the indication in Abuja while highlighting activities lined up to commemorate the 2020 World Food Day.
He said the gesture is targeted at supporting farmers to improve their productivity aimed at boosting the nation’s agricultural sector.
