Again NAF Airstrikes Wipe Out Terrorists Meeting Venue In Sambisa – DHQ.
The defence headquarters says it’s air task force of Operation Lafia Dole obliterated a boko haram terrorist meeting venue along with other structures and neutralised several of their fighters at Mainyakare on the fringes of the Sambisa forest in Borno State. A signed statement by the coordinator Defence media Operations, Major General John Enenche made available to CNA News indicated that the air interdiction mission was executed on Thursday, 2nd July 2020 to mark the launch of subsidiary operation LONG REACH II after series of intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance mission had established that a prominent building in the middle of the settlement was being used as the meeting Venue where the terrorists plan and launch attacks as well as house some of their fighters. Enenche stated that a force package of Nigerian Air Force fighter jets dispatched to attack the location recorded a precision bomb strike on designated targets killing many of the terrorists. Applauding the feat, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar who is in Maiduguri to personally oversee the conduct of operation LONG REACH II commended the troops for their professionalism and urged them to intensify the air offensive against the terrorists and other criminal elements threatening the peace and security of the Nation.
