TCN Restores Power to Abuja Communities After Kukwaba Substation Outage
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk electricity supply through the Kukwaba 132kV Transmission Substation following an outage that affected several communities and businesses in the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement signed by the management, TCN said power was restored at 4:16 p.m. after efforts to resolve a disruption caused by the tripping of the 33kV feeder L36 at 12:24 a.m. on Wednesday.
The company explained that restoration was delayed by a faulty line circuit breaker, which hindered immediate repair work.
To restore supply, TCN engineers successfully tied feeder L36 to feeder L34, enabling the resumption of bulk power delivery to Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) load centres served by the affected network.
As a result, electricity supply is now available for AEDC to distribute to customers in Daba Estate, Police Barracks, Kuchigoro Community, Idu, Paipe Village, Saburi and other affected locations.
Industrial customers that have also regained supply include Veritas Plastic Company, Hala Rice Company, Rico Godo Feed Max Company and Chinese Stone.TCN thanked affected customers for their patience and understanding during the outage.
