The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Katsina Sub-Region, and Imcomtel Engineering Limited have inspected the Katsina 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation Project as preparations intensify for its next major installation phase.
The joint inspection, conducted on Thursday, September 24, 2026, focused on the readiness of the project site, including civil works, equipment locations and supporting infrastructure.
Leading the inspection, the Assistant General Manager (Transmission), Katsina Sub-Region, Engr. Usman Idris, received the Imcomtel delegation headed by Engr. Emmanuel Okafor.
A key focus of the exercise was the assessment of two 100MVA power transformers delivered to the site on July 9, 2026, alongside their designated plinths. The transformers are expected to significantly increase transmission capacity in Katsina State and contribute to improved electricity transmission across the North West region.
The team also inspected four newly delivered control rooms designed to accommodate critical protection, monitoring and control systems, assessing their readiness for installation and integration.
At the conclusion of the inspection, TCN and Imcomtel agreed on outstanding technical requirements and site preparations aimed at ensuring smooth coordination as the project advances towards completion.
The inspection team included the Principal Manager, Engr. Mustapha Idowu, as well as Heads of Technical Departments.
