The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six hour power interruption in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State on Saturday, September 26, 2026, due to scheduled preventive maintenance.
According to TCN, the maintenance will be carried out on the Katampe-Gwarinpa 132/33kV Line 2 bay switchgears and associated equipment from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The company said the maintenance will affect the ability of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to supply electricity to customers in parts of Dawaki, Dutse Alhaji, Gwarinpa, Kubwa, Arab Road, Bwari, Mopol Barracks, Jiwa, Suleja Township, FCT College of Education, Field Base, Madalla, Zuba and adjoining areas.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the scheduled maintenance, stressing that the exercise is part of its annual preventive maintenance programme.
