Residents of Damaturu and surrounding communities will experience a four hour power outage on Saturday, September 26, 2026, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out planned maintenance on the Gombe-Damaturu-Molai 330kV Line 1.
TCN said in a notice that the maintenance will take place from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
According to the transmission company, the exercise is aimed at enabling its contractors to work on the Power Line Carrier (PLC) and rehabilitate the SCADA system on the transmission line.
TCN said the maintenance will prevent the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) from off taking electricity to customers in Damaturu and environs during the four hour period.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the planned maintenance.
