This may not be the best of time for some e-pin vendors as they were arrested by men of the federal Capital Territory police command for alleged cyber crimes and fraudulent registration of candidates for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in 38 centres across the country. The arrests followed a sting operation conducted by JAMB, which uncovered massive fraud allegedly perpetrated by the sales agents and 48 computers recovered as evidence from their centres located across the 36 states of the federation. The vendors who were lured to the headquarters of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board for a stakeholders meeting were driven away by the police in two coaster buses. Earlier, while briefing the media, Jamb Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede who accused the vendors of engaging in multiple infractions and registration of candidates on extended Virtual Private Network, said beneficiary candidates from the process will not be allowed to write the UTM examination.
