Breaking: JAMB Suspends Use Of NIN For 2020 UTME.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)has suspended the use of the National Identity Number requirement as prerequisite to sit for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to 2021. Jamb Registrar,Prof Ishaq Oloyede disclosed this at a news conference held at the boards headquarters in Bwari,Abuja. He said the decision was arrived at following series of technical challenges encountered by candidates in obtaining the NIN at the various designated National Identity Management Commission centres across the country. Track up On his part, Director General of NIMC, Engr Aliyu Azeez cleared the air that the decision to adopt the NIN policy was among others to eliminate issues of identity fraud in the UTM examination. He however attributed logistical challenges as reasons for the suspension of the exercise. Track up With this development, it is expected that more candidates will now have opportunity to register for the 2020 UTM examination scheduled to commence from Monday January 13th to February 17th,2020.
