The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says electricity supply to some areas will be affected today, Saturday, September 5, 2026, as it carries out urgent maintenance at the Katampe 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation.
TCN said the maintenance is necessary to seal an oil leakage from one of the transformers at the substation.
The exercise is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and end at 7 p.m.
According to the company, some circuits will be affected during the maintenance, preventing the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from taking electricity from some feeders supplied by the affected transformer.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the temporary interruption, saying the exercise is required to address the transformer fault.
The company said the maintenance would be handled by its maintenance crew as part of efforts to ensure the continued reliability of the transmission network.
