NEPZA’s Act Must Be Reviewed For Optimum Performance Of Free Trade Zones – Dawuk

Since the assumption of office by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adebayo Adeniyi, the desire to resolve the controversies surrounding the incorporation of the Nigerian Special Economic Zones Company NSEZCO by his predecessor Okechukwu Enelamah which led to the suspension of its budgetary allocation has been on the front burner. Speaking to news men in the Nigerian Capital, Abuja, the Acting Managing Director, Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority Bitrus Dawuk who spoke on the importance of Special Economic Zones Companies to countries’ economy said the agency will give the Minister the necessary support to resolve the challenges on time. He noted that NEPZA also needs to overhaul its existing Act which is already outdated in order to harness its full potential as well as meet up with the current global economic realities.
