Former Tanzanian President Commends Alausa’s Education Reforms, Ahead Of Global Education Summit

Nigeria’s ongoing education reforms have received international commendation, with former Tanzanian President and Chairman of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Board, Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, praising the Federal Government’s efforts to transform the sector.

During a meeting with the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, Kikwete described the reforms as a strong demonstration of Nigeria’s commitment to improving learning outcomes and strengthening the country’s education system.

He also expressed optimism ahead of the Global Education Summit in September, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will co-chair the high level meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to mobilise greater global investment in education.

Responding, Dr. Alausa thanked the former Tanzanian President for his contributions to education and leadership development across Africa and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening education reforms through stronger partnerships, increased investment and evidence based policies.

The Minister said the Federal Ministry of Education would continue working with the Global Partnership for Education and other international partners to build an inclusive and future ready education system that expands access to quality education for every Nigerian child.
