OSPOLY Hails TETFund Skills Development Intervention, Says Initiative Transformed Academic Operations
The Osun State College of Technology (OSPOLY), Esa-Oke, has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for its Skills Development Intervention, describing the initiative as a transformative project that has significantly improved academic delivery, administrative operations, and infrastructure within the institution.
In an official letter of appreciation addressed to TETFund and signed by the Rector, Mr. S.A. Adewumi, the college management highlighted the far reaching impact of the intervention, noting that it has equipped staff and students with industry relevant skills, upgraded training facilities, and strengthened the institution’s capacity to meet contemporary educational demands.
According to a statement issued by TETFund’s Director of Public Affairs, Abdulmumin Oniyangi, the institution praised the Fund for its sustained support to tertiary institutions across the country and reaffirmed its commitment to the prudent utilization of intervention funds to sustain existing gains and extend benefits to more staff and students.
The letter read in part: “On behalf of the Governing Council, Management and Staff of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, I write to express our sincere gratitude and profound appreciation for the Skills Development Intervention granted to the College.
“It is pertinent to inform you that the project has been successfully and satisfactorily completed, and all payments due to us have been received.
From our perspective and thorough evaluation, the project has been an important experience for the College and an opportunity to contribute to strengthening our capacity and enhancing the quality of our academic programmes.”
The institution further noted that the intervention enabled it to acquire critical facilities and equipment that had remained beyond its financial reach for years.
“Similarly, the Skills Development Intervention has provided the College with a unique opportunity to acquire much needed facilities and equipment which, on our own, would not have been affordable over the years. The Starlink internet and mini solar grid components of the project have enabled the College to address some of its most fundamental power and connectivity challenges that previously undermined critical aspects of learning on campus.
“The College can now boast of independent and stable electricity and internet connectivity, which have greatly enhanced its capacity to drive academic and administrative activities. This is an immense contribution and a unique value addition to the institution,” the letter stated.
The management added that the availability of modern learning tools, stable power supply, and improved internet access has contributed to a more vibrant academic environment and enhanced overall educational outcomes within both the campus and the surrounding community.
The statement further emphasized that the intervention has repositioned the College to meet the demands of 21st century education by equipping lecturers with the resources needed to deliver practical, industry focused training, while ensuring that graduates leave with skills that improve their employability.
TETFund’s Skills Development Intervention is part of the Fund’s broader mandate to rehabilitate, restore, and consolidate tertiary education in Nigeria through strategic funding of critical projects and programmes.
