As part of efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of its National Social Investment Programmes, the Nigerian Government established a partnership with the anti graft agencies and the secret police to check corruption and sharp practices. To intensify the momentum to fight those perceived to be against the Government’s policies in reducing extreme poverty that impede on socio-economic and political development, the APC administration opened a new chapter of collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC. Speaking in Abuja on the importance of the partnership, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq said the move was aimed at checking illegality in the system.
