According to a report by the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA on gender abuse, 2018 was a challenging year, especially for women and girls. This is not far from the concern by the Regional Vice President, North and West Africa of the Federation of Women Lawyers, Victoria Awomolo who frown at the growing rate of violence against women and children in Africa. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Mrs Awomolo lamented that the course of women in Africa over the years has been neglected, as there are rising cases of rape, child paedophilia among other abuses against women.
