Nigeria, Burundi Strengthen Defense Ties Through Diplomatic Study Tour

Nigeria has reiterated its dedication to African regional integration and peace-building during a high-level visit from the Senior Command and Staff College of Burundi to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
​Representing the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Musa Sani Nuhu, Director of Policy, Research, and Strategy, welcomed the delegation, noting that Nigeria remains at the forefront of promoting economic development and security across the continent.
​The visit, which is part of a broader study tour to Nigeria, focused on three key pillars:
​Regional Security: Discussions on Nigeria’s role in the Multinational Joint Task Force and counter-terrorism.
​Diplomatic Frameworks: Reviewing Nigeria’s active participation in ECOWAS and other multilateral organizations.
​Bilateral Cooperation: Enhancing the strategic capacity of military and diplomatic officers from both nations.
​The Commandant of the Burundi Senior Command and Staff College thanked the Nigerian government for the warm reception, stating that the insights gathered during the tour would be instrumental in building international partnerships.
​The engagement concluded with a formal exchange of symbolic gifts, signaling a mutual commitment to fostering goodwill and deeper diplomatic understanding between Abuja and Bujumbura.
