In line with the All Progressives Congress’ Next Level agenda, the Nigeria Exports Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) has threatened to revoke the license of about twenty inactive Free Trade Zones in the country. The Acting Managing Director, Terhemba Nongo, who read the riot act in Abuja said due to the strategic position of free trade zones in attracting foreign direct investment as well as driving the economic diversification agenda of the Buhari led administration, they will no longer tolerate the nonchalant attitude of those given the licenses but fail to develop the zones. He threatened that any free trade zone that remained inactive within the next one will give the authority no choice than to revoke the license.
