Mission 2063: Shettima Joins African Leaders to Tackle Water Crisis
Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Addis Ababa on Saturday to participate in the plenary of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President joined leaders from across the continent and international delegates for the high-level opening session. The summit serves as a primary forum for African heads of state to coordinate policy and address regional challenges.
This year’s session is centered on the theme: “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.” Discussions are expected to focus on climate resilience, infrastructure investment, and the strategic management of water resources as a catalyst for continental development.
The Vice President is scheduled to engage in several high-level meetings throughout the summit to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to the AU’s long-term developmental framework, Agenda 2063.
