The National Executive Committee of the Accord Party has approved a new Caretaker Committee for its Osun State chapter, naming Victor Akande as chairman following the expiration of the previous leadership’s tenure.
The decision was contained in a communique issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Joseph Omorogbe, in Abuja.
He said, the NEC meeting was attended by 36 state chairmen, members of the National Working Committee, and was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Omorogbe, also disclosed that, the NEC have approved the Electoral Guidelines for the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial primaries and also a general waiver for numerous Nigerians who recently joined the party and desire to contest elections on its platform.
Meanwhile, the NEC of the party passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem as National Chairman reiterating that there is no faction in the party at all levels, NEC also lifted the suspension of some members in Osun State as it prepares for the gubernatorial election in the state.
