Group Urges FG To End Negotiations With Terrorists Amid Rising Abductions

22

Amid the growing wave of abductions across the country, the Federal Government has been urged to halt all forms of negotiations with terrorist groups.

Convener of the Nigerian Movement for Actionable Change, Fisal Sanusi, made the call during a peaceful protest staged by the group at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

Citing a viral video alleging ransom payment for the release of 24 kidnapped students in Kebbi State, Sanusi warned that such actions only embolden criminal elements and fuel further abductions.

The group also assessed the worsening security situation nationwide and demanded that President Bola Tinubu declare a state of emergency in the security sector.

Protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as “Fund the Military, Not Bandits” and other messages calling for stronger action to curb insecurity.
