This walk is the Maiden edition of a 10 kilometre Route March by officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, FCT command.
The walk began from the command headquarters in Wuse zone 5 through the main market, linking to zone 2 and 7 as well as berger roundabout before terminating at the starting point.
Addressing news men, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, FCT Command, Olusola Odumosu said the exercise is not just to enhance the fitness level of his officers and men to meet up with its mandate of dislodging vandals in the nation’s capital but a symbol of discipline, resilience and unity.
He however, urged the personnel to remain resolute in their duties, commitment to the vision of the Corps, and ever conscious of the fact that the security and peace of the nation rests, in part, on their shoulders.
