7th National Day Of Identity: Tinubu, Akpabio, Tunji-Ojo, Others Laud NIMC’s Landmark Achievement

It was a gathering of the nation’s creme dela creme, diplomats, political office holders, royal institution, technocrats, captains of industry, major players in the technology sphere of the economy and security communities.

The convergence was to commemorate the seventh National Day of Identity organised by the Nationality Identity Management Commission, NIMC in the nation’s capital city Abuja.

Speaking at the one programme with the theme, public key infrastructure: backbone to digital public infrastructure, President Bola Tinubu said the commission has done extremely well in carrying out its mandate.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator, George Akume, the President said achieving a truly robust identity ecosystem requires collaboration from all stakeholders.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo called for recommitment to building an identity ecosystem that secures rights, unlocks opportunity and projects Nigerian competence to the world.

The Representative of the Senator President, Senator Victor Umeh and some key stakeholders spoke on the significant strides recorded by NIMC.

It was the turn of the woman of the moment, the Director General, NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote to address the mammoth crowd on the magic wane used in transforming the commission.

The 2025 National Day of Identity also featured the presentation of National Social Disbursement Process, two segments of fireside chat as well as panel sessions among others.
