PTAD Partners ACOE To Enhance Reforms Visibility
The Pension Transition Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has promised to work with the Association of Corporate Online Editors, ACOE, in order to give more visibility to the numerous reforms embark upon by the agency to improve the well-being of pensioners.
Executive Secretary, PTAD, Tolulope Odunaiya made the pledge when a delegation of ACOE led by the Chairman Sola Akingboye paid her and the management a familiarisation visit in Abuja.
Lauding the transformative role of the online media in the modern era, the PTAD boss said the visit by the association is very apt in the face of their ongoing reforms in line with President Bola Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I recognise the significant contributions of online media, and I welcome the opportunity to partner with you. We are open to collaborating with the media.
“Media partnerships will help amplify our efforts and inform citizens both within Nigeria and abroad of our ongoing reforms, as the online space knows no boundaries,” she said.
Earlier, the Chairman, ACOE, Sola Akingboye, commended PTAD for its efforts in ensuring that retirees are paid at when due.
He acknowledged the challenges PTAD faced in the past, which according to him stemmed from systemic corruption within the pension system over the years.
“Under your able leadership, we have seen effective measures being implemented to address pension issues through various reforms and initiatives focused on combating pension fraud and establishing new guidelines for deductions and remittances.
“These accomplishments, along with many others, reflect the commendable leadership we have observed since you took office less than ten months ago.
“We are here to offer our support for all efforts aimed at improving the pension system in Nigeria. You can count on us to utilise our various media platforms to promote the good work currently ongoing under your leadership at PTAD,” he said.
Mr. Akingboye informed the PTAD’s management that Association of Corporate Online Editors, ACOE, is a dynamic association of over 50 online media organisations from across the country, whose mission is to uphold the highest standards of journalism in the emerging global new media landscape.
