FG Recommits To Completing National Library Headquarters.

The Federal Government has reassured on plans to complete the National Library of Nigeria headquarters in Abuja.

The project which was initially valued at 9 billion naira when the contract was awarded in 2006 has been stalled for nearly 2 decades.

As part of efforts to complete the 9 story edifice,the federal government in 2021 approved the takeover of the financing of the National Library project by Tertiary Education Trust Fund.

Four years after the directive,the minister of Education,Dr Tunji Alausa on Wednesday paid a working visit to the NLN site located at the central business district of Abuja.

The minister reaffirmed the political will of the present administration to complete the project.

Alausa expressed optimism that the first phase of the National Library will be completed by June 2025.
