Zamfara APC Youth Vanguard Pleads With Tinubu For Yazid Danfulani Reappointment As Executive Secretary, SMDF/PAGMI.
The Zamfara state APC Youth Vanguard has called on President Bola Tinubu to reconsider the mix up in the appointment of Yazid Danfulani and Hajia Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi as Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI) same day.
While Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani was initially announced as Executive Secretary SMDF/PAGMI by President Tinubu on 6th December 2024, another press statement was issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga replacing him with Hajia Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi whose tenure as the Executive Secretary of the agency elapsed recently.
A statement by the Chairman of the Zamfara APC Youth Vanguard, Hon. Muhammad Usman Gusau issued on Saturday in Abuja indicates that it is time to take the solid minerals sector to a greater height by a purposeful, resourceful and innovative leader especially as Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi has contributed her quota in piloting the affairs of SMDF/PAGMI since 2017 she assumed office.
“We therefore urge President Bola Tinubu to graciously reconsider and review the mix up in the appointment of Yazid Danfulani and Hajia Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi as Executive Secretary of SMDF same day.
The Group described Danfulani as an embodiment of patriotism, a development expert with enormous intellectual capacity. He will bring his wealth of experience in banking, computing and business administration to bear on the solid minerals sector, having worked meritoriously at the Central Bank of Nigeria and served as a Commissioner of Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
Gusua said with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom, Danfulani will certainly bring a high sense of commitment and innovation in repositioning the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative to actualize President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We urge Mr President to graciously take another look at the mix up in the appointment and consider Yazid Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of SMDF”.
