16,614 candidates participated in the Batch ‘B’ Professional Qualifying Examination conducted by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria across the country.
TRCN’s acting registrar, Stella Nwokeocha, who disclosed this while monitoring the examination in one of the centres in Abuja noted that the process has been smooth nationwide.
Nwokeocha who warned against candidates engaging in examination malpractices spoke on measures put in place by the council to improve the examination process.
The Ag Registrar further lamented the state of the council following its delisting from those funded directly by the federal government.
For his part, the Director of ICT at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abubakar Isah, who represented the permanent secretary, Nasiru Sani-Gwarzo, praised TRCN for a seamless examination process.
The TRCN PQE is a prerequisite for licencing and certification of teachers before being allowed to teach in the classrooms in Nigeria.
