Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has solicited support from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund to build an edifice to house all practical skills for its state-owned university of Education and Entrepreneurship. The Governor made the appeal during a working visit to TETFund in Abuja.
Otu who commended the Fund under the leadership of Arch Sonny Echono on the visible infrastructural development in the country, insisted on support for the state university of education and Entrepreneurship where craftsmen, bricklayers, welders, and others will be trained.
The Governor said the decision to establish a university of education and Entrepreneurship which is the first of its kind in Nigeria is targeted at addressing the unemployment challenges in the country.
Responding, the executive Secretary of TETFund, Arch Sonny Echono assured the governor of support stressing that such gesture is one of TETFund obligations to the states.
Echono expressed the Funds commitment to actualise the presidential mandate to ensure every Nigerian child graduating from the nations tertiary institutions have proficiency in ICT and technology skills.
