Ahead of next month airlifting of Christian pilgrims to the holy land, the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission has commenced training for about 170 staff on the rituals, planning and execution of modern-day pilgrimage.
Speaking at the opening session of the training, the NCPC Executive Secretary, Bishop Stephen Adegbite said the exercise is aimed at deepening their understanding with the requisite knowledge on the current trends in pilgrimage management in line with global best practices.
The cleric expressed optimism that the opportunity will spur the participants to deliver services expected of them in line with the mandate of the commission.
On his part, the principal consultant to the Programme, Victor Ivoke, said the participants at the end of the one-week training will be well equipped to guide the pilgrims on the spiritual regeneration journey.
Meanwhile, some of the participants shared their thoughts on the importance of the exercise.
The theme of the one week training exercise,holding simultaneously across the six geopolitical zones is “Excellent service delivery in Pilgrims management”.
