The Muri Campaign Council has dissociated itself from the purported plans for a protest against the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Led administration allegedly sponsored by Former Governor, Yahaya Bello.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director, New Media, Muri/Sam Campaign Council-SDP,
Isaiah Davies Ijele and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA.

According to the statement, the move is to incite chaos and attribute such actions to Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the SDP with Tshirt, Caps and Banners already printed in the council’s name.

The statement reads in part:

“We, as concerned citizens and Muri Campaign Council, wish to address the recent plot by the embattled Former Governor Yahaya Bello and his purported plans for a protest against the Tinubu Led administration.

“It has come to our attention that there are intentions to incite chaos and attribute such actions to Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the SDP with Tshirt, Caps and Banners already printed in our names.

“It’s laughable because there is no political party that is in court aiming at victory that will embark such unholy acts against the Federal Government.

“We want to clarify that we are not associated with these alleged plans and vehemently disavow any involvement in such activities.

“It is imperative to emphasize that we uphold the principles of lawfulness and non-violence. We have no intentions of participating in any protest that incites disorder or promotes violence.

“Therefore, we urge the government to hold those responsible, including Yahaya Bello and his Boy Usman ODODO, accountable for any potential violent demonstrations originating from Kogi state.

“As responsible citizens, we advocate for peaceful and lawful means of addressing grievances and encourage dialogue as the foundation for resolving differences.

“We stand firm in our commitment to upholding the rule of law and fostering a peaceful environment for all Nigerians,” it concluded.
