The Federal Government says it will continue to implement the teachers scheme as part of efforts to improve the quality of education in the country.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman made the pledge at the Public Presentation of the Professional Standards for school Leadership, in Abuja.
Mamman who acknowledged the roles of teachers in developing value system at the heart of learners, pledged the commitment of the federal government to providing necessary resources, training, and support to help them succeed in their profession.
Earlier, the Registrar, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, (TRCN) Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, in his keynote address said the effective implementation of the professional standards will change the landscape in the teaching profession.
Meanwhile, other speakers in their remarks harped on the relevance of an effective school leadership for a better learning outcome.
The Professional Standards for School Leadership was later unveiled by the minister of Education with key emphasis to serve as a comprehensive framework to support and enhance the effectiveness of school leadership.
