Just In: Nigeria Validates Draft National Diaspora Policy
There is no doubt that Nigerians in diaspora have contributed substantially to the economic development of the nation. According to the World bank migration and remittance survey,Nigeria receives the largest inflow of remittances in sub sahara Africa. As part of efforts to build on this progress, the Nigerian Government in partnership with the International organisation for migration initiated a diaspora policy plan with key emphasis on providing a comprehensive framework for facilitating diaspora engagement in national development. At a stakeholders meeting to validate the draft national diaspora policy in Abuja, Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission,Abike Dabiri said the policy will serve as means of constructive engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora for sustainable national development.
