0 354

Following series of delays and outright withholding of members salaries and allowances, the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, MHWUN, has threatened to resume industrial actions across the country if the Federal Government continues in the path it is currently treading. The union is accusing the government of victimizing some of its members, by the implementation of a “no work, no pay” policy, for blowing the whistle against the Chief Medical Director of one of the nation’s Federal Medical Centers. Speaking to the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, who paid an inspection visit to the Union’s headquarters in Abuja, president of the Union Biobelemoye Josiah who expressed reservation over the development also raised concerns over alleged plans by government to implement policies that may jeopardize the nation’s public health sector.
