The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), have declared indefinite strike commencing from Monday, 3rd, June, 2024
President of the TUC, Festus Osifo at an emergency news conference said the action followed the failure of the federal government to conclude negotiations on a new national minimum wage and reverse the hike in the electricity tariff.
The negotiation which had resumed on Friday, again ended in deadlock as labour officials walked out of the meeting.
Leaders of both labour centres pleaded with Nigerians to bear with them while affirming commitment to pursue the matter to a logical conclusion.
