As the federal government continues to introduce reforms to rejig the agricultural sector and ensure food security, state governments have been urged to key into the initiative through massive investment in the sector.
Chairman of the Independent Media and Policy Initiative, IMPI, Niyi Akinsiju gave the advise at a press conference in Abuja to appraise the first quarter performance of the president Tinubu administration.
Advising the state government against actions that could jeopardize the ongoing efforts to reposition the sector to respond to the yearnings of Nigerians especially in the face of rising food prices, the Group wondered why many states were yet to key into the presidential directive in this direction.
The Group also reacted to several issues of national importance, key of which is the current fuel scarcity urging Nigerians to exercise patience as efforts are on to tackle the co Meanwhile, on the recent stand- off between the Former governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello and the EFCC, the group aligned it’s position with the advice of the Attorney General of the Federation, insisting that the former Governor is not above the law, and must face trial.
