Just In: Nigeria Among D-8 Muslim Countries Set To Better Health Status Of Member State

The Development 8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation also known as the D-8 is an Islamic Organisation that focus on promoting development among member states in the area of Health, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Commerce and Industry. The D-8 meeting which is the first in Nigeria is aimed at implementing health and social protection programmes by reducing health challenges in member states. Addressing the inaugural meeting in Abuja, Nigeria’s Commissioner to D-8 who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mustapha Sulaiman said Nigeria is committed to implementing policies that would strengthen its health system. Represented by the Director, International Department, Oluremi Oliyede, the Commission urged the member states to take full advantage of the programme in order to foster economic growth and development of their respective countries.
