The All Progressives Congress, APC has called on the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly to immediately swear in 16 of its members adjudged by the Court of Appeal to have been duly elected as members of the State House of Assembly.
The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka gave the indication while highlighting details of the party’s 141st National working Committee meeting to newsmen in Abuja.
The party expressed worry at the instance of the state Governor and speaker of the House of Assembly to disobey the judgement of the court of appeal, saying the decision is wrong, undemocratic and highly contemptuous.
The APC Spokesman further disclosed plans by the party to flag-off its nationwide membership registration exercise. Other details of the meeting include the adoption of the report of the NWC’s high level Reconciliation and Intervention Delegation to the United Kingdom’s Diaspora Chapter.
Morka said the Committee approved the constitution of an Interim Executive Committee of the Chapter of 24 members to be led by its Chairman, Hon. Tunde Doherty and the Secretary, Hon. Joseph Adebola. The Interim Executive Committee was given a renewable term of three months as may be necessary.
