The Nigerian Military has attributed the struggle for the control of mineral resources by different interest groups as a major cause of the nation’s insecurity challenge.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba disclosed this at a news conference at the Defence headquarters in Abuja.
He said Nigeria is in the state of war as the quest for total control of mineral by enemies of the state as experienced in other climes is a global phenomenon that needs to be tackled.
The Defence Media Operations spokesperson also used the occasion to give an update on the recent Bwari kidnapping incidents.
Major General Buba further highlighted strides recorded in diverse operations across the country.
He however, urged the public to always volunteer information to the military and other security agencies for the overall benefit of the country.
