We’ll Ensure Return Of Peace In Plateau – DHQ
The military high command as assured of efforts to ensure lasting Peace in Plateau state and the country at large.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa who disclosed this at the decoration ceremony of newly promoted officers in Abuja said, the military in collaboration with other security agencies is closing up on the terrorists and their sponsors.
He said the war is a collective responsibility.
The Chief of Defence Staff also assured that the military will not be shy in carrying out its constitutional mandate of security lives of the citizenry.
Meanwhile, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General, Edward Buba at a bi-weekly news conference said the military will not rest until the perpetrators of Christmas Eve’s massacre in Plateau State are brought to justice.
General Buba who also highlighted various activities of troops across board especially in the second half of the year, painted a picture of hope in the fight against insurgency in the North East and other parts of southern Nigeria.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, in the final analysis said the resounding exploits of troops of operation HADARIN DAJI in the North West saw over 1,500 bandits neutralized, recovery of assorted weapons and ammunition, as well as rescue of about 1000 hostages including some of the abducted students of Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State.
He further assured that the armed forces will continue to exert military pressure on groups that seek to derail lasting peace and security of the country.
