The need for proper funding of the National Identity Management and Commission NIMC for effective delivery of its statutory responsibilities has once again been emphasised by the Citizen Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights (CASER).
The rights group at a news conference in Abuja, said the call for additional financial support will assist NIMC to generate data for economic prosperity of the Nation.
According to the Executive Director of CASER, Frank Tietie, the mandate of NIMC to national development and improvement of living standards of Nigerians cannot be over-emphasized hence the advocacy.
Tietie who explained that the campaign is part of CASERs contribution to national development, was also quick to add that the focus is people oriented.
The rights lawyer further expressed confidence in the efforts of the present leadership of NIMC to deliver online with the renewed hope agenda of the present administration.
