No Interference In Bayelsa, Kogi, Imo Governorship Elections- Ribadu.

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has assured the electorates in Imo,Kogi and Bayelsa States that security agencies have been mobilized to ensure a violent free and credible 11th November Governorship election.

Ribadu gave the indication at the Quarterly consultative meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee On Election Security (ICCES)hosted by the NSA office in Abuja.

The NSA who is also the co chair of the committee restated the commitment of president Tinubu’s administration to change the narrative in the conduct of transparent and credible elections in the country, adding that security agencies on election duty in the 3 states have been directed to be professional in the conduct of their responsibilities.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Prof Mahmood Yakubu who restated efforts by the commission to ensure the out come of the off Cycle Elections meet the aspirations of the electorates, further called on security agencies to take decisive action against perpetrators of electoral violence.

The meeting later entered into a closed session with the inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun and Chief of Defence staff, General Christopher Musa taking turns to brief the media on some of its resolutions.

According to INEC, over 5 million person’s that have so far collected their permanent voters cards will vote in 10,510 polling units across the 3 states of Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa during the 11th November Governorship Elections
