The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Prof Mahmood Yakubu has dismissed insinuations that the Commission plans to transmit results of the November 11 Governorship elections in Bayelsa,Imo and Bayelsa States manually.
Prof Yakubu gave the indication after monitoring the mock accreditation of voters exercise in some poling units in Lokoja Kogi State.
Prof Yakubu who was reacting to statement credited to the Resident Electoral Commissioner Bayelsa state Obo Effanga, said results of the Governorship polls would be electronically uploaded on the IREV portal.
The Chairman further expressed satisfaction with the mock accreditation exercise held across the 3 states especially with the turnout of voters. In a related development, the INEC Chairman also met with Electoral officers in the 21 local government council of the north central state and pledged efforts by the commission to conduct a credible election.
