Ahead of the 11th November Governorship election in Kogi State, a Coalition for Credible Elections has called on political actors to give peace a chance for a conducive electoral process before and after the poll.
Coordinator of the Coalition, Comrade Israel Abiodun made the call at a peace walk for Kogi State in Abuja.
He said the campaign for peace became necessary inview of the recent political violence in the north central state that led to the unfortunate death of one Khadijat Yahaya.
The coalition raised concerns over the uncooperative deposition of the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party Murtala Ajaka to police investigations on the matter.
They further urged political parties, candidates and their supporters to play by the rule and ensure the conduct of a peaceful election in Kogi State.
The coalition also condemned the politics of ethnicity that recently characterised on going political parties campaigns in the state.
