The Federal government has indicated plans to include families of veterans who lost their lives in active service in its Social Investment Programmes.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, who disclosed this at a courtesy call on the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in Abuja.
She said the target is to effectively engage them with skills and trades that would lift them out of poverty.
Briefing the minister on the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria which directly and indirectly affects over 60 million person’s, Dr Edu said the visit was informed by the need to seek collaborations that would profer the desired solutions.
Responding, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, affirmed of his commitment to tackle emergency responses within and outside the Country.
The Minister further indicated the resolve of the present federal executive council to work together in synergy towards addressing the various challenges confronting the Nation.
