Oil marketers under the auspices of the Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA) has called on the Federal Government to immediately address the alarming drop of the naira against the dollar as it has significantly impacted on the pump price of petrol.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the President NOGASA, Benneth Korie,attributed the forex challenge as reason why the pump price of PMS and other petroleum products will continue to rise.
He advise the government to come up with a framework that will guarantee a uniform price for the Naira against the dollar.
Korie who cited other solutions including getting the refineries back in operation said the gesture will stabilize petrol pump prices and relieve the pressure on the naira.
The marketers further highlighted the need to support the private sector in establishing more refineries in the country.
Conversations to fix major road network across the country was also raised by the marketers as a way out from the present challenge on the oil sector.
